This anecdote from the Burgtheather in Vienna and Raoul Aslan will shed more light on Global thinking.
One night Raoul Aslan, star of the Vienna Burgtheater, stormed onto the stage brandishing a sword. He stopped. He looked around, started to deliver the first line-and drew a blank. The Prompter whispered, “The whole of Spain has been engulfed in flames!” The actor starred, said nothing. The prompter repeated a little louder, ” The whole of Spain has been engulfed in flames! ”The star looked again and strode dramatically toward the prompter’s box. The prompter, now a bit nervous: ” The whole of Spain has been engulfed in flames! ”Actor bent down a little toward the prompter’s box and whispered, “No details what’s the play?”
Raoul Aslan(16 October 1886 – 17 June 1958) was an Austrian theater actor of Greek-Armenian ancestry. He was interested in acting since his school days. The Burgtheater made a breakthrough in his career. He was the first one who was honored with the title “Kammerschauspieler” in 1929 (the former “Hofschauspieler”). He worked as an actor, director, and also as a manager at the Burgtheater.
The Burgtheater (known as the K. K. Hoftheater nächst der Burg) in Vienna is Europe’s second-oldest theatre, one of Europe’s largest theatres and plays an important role in the German-speaking theatrical world. If you want to view a play there, please note that all performances are in German.
